Joseph Medal

This medal, as you can see, is something special. It has gone its own way. It seems to me as if St Joseph had anticipated this moment many years ago.

This medal has been given me by a priest. It must be very old and the wearer was probably an Orthodox clergyman (Patriarch). The priest gave it to me in 1979 because he knew that St Joseph is near and dear to me. I have carefully kept it all these years and admired it every now and then – at the same time thinking that it is a pity to put away again something so precious without wearing it. Time and again I have blessed people with it too.

Now the foundation of the Lay Community was approaching and immediately I knew what I am to wear as foundress at the admission of members.

Thus this medal has become my personal emblem and that of the Lay Community of St Joseph. In everything I see the perpetual help and working of St Joseph.
